Here are some common
Saffron grades:

Super Negin Saffron

Super Negin saffron is the highest grade of saffron available and is known for its vibrant red color, intense aroma, and powerful flavor. This type of saffron consists of the crimson-colored strands of the Crocus Sativus flower and the white or yellow portion of the stigma that connects to the flower head is meticulously removed. This ensures the high concentration of the valuable saffron essence in our Super Negin grade.

Sargol Saffron

Sargol saffron is the prized part of the saffron Crocus Sativus flower, which translates to “Head of the Flower” in Persian. This type of saffron consists of the upper part of the crimson stigmas which is all-red. Due to its different shape and size, Sargol saffron is more affordable compared to Super Negin while the quality, color and aroma is alike.

Negin Saffron

Negin saffron compared to Super Negin is longer in length and contains a few yellow or orange portions of the threads. Simply said, the aroma, quality, and purity are still great but you do pay less due to the different appearance.

Pushal Saffron

Pushal saffron occupies the middle ground in saffron grades, offering a balance between quality and affordability compared to Sargol and Negin saffron. It consists of the saffron crocus flower’s stigmas, but it includes some yellow or orange styles compared to the purer red strands of Sargol and Negin saffron. This means it might have a slightly lower concentration of crocin (color) and safranal (aroma) compared to the top grades, but it is still suited for everyday use.
